Francis Duncan
After college and a brief stint with sales, Francis started with AOL in 1997. Her career at AOL has included member services, managing online communities, writing content and overseeing kids and teens’ policies with an ever present focus on children’s safety.
Because of her role at AOL, she is very familiar with what the Internet has to offer; knowing how great the good stuff is, how horrible the bad stuff is and how strange the rest can be. There are many risks and rewards to the online world. It is up to all of us to learn what we can and share our knowledge so everyone can keep safe while online.
She had her first child in December 2008 and looks forward to being able to keep up with the online aspect of her child’s life; keeping her safe, while letting her explore the age appropriate content and tools. Francis says "My goal is to spread the knowledge I have of the online world, its uses and benefits as well as the risks with parents, kids and teens."When not at work, she loves spending time with her daughter and is a movie and social media junky.
